Good morning!
It looks like this is our final module!
Here are the assignments and their due dates:
- Part B Concept Map (April 23)
- Team Website (April 23)
- Reading Reflection 11 (April 9) ~ and two comments by that following Wednesday
- Reading Reflection 12 (April 16) ~ and two comments by that following Wednesday
I can start up a web site today at some point and share the link on here. Amanda, since I did the first concept map and Bethany did the second one, it looks like you will have to be responsible for this concept map. Thoughts on what we need to add or tweak on the Revised revised-concept map?
The website has been shared with each of our emails, however it was created through a separate email account that I created per the professor's request. If you would like the username and password, I can text it to you both.
***I first tried to create the web site using classic sites, however after getting frustrated with it, I created a new site using the new google sites. Hope this is okay with you guys - it seems more user-friendly!***

*For the web pages to be assigned, I wondered if we each wanted to choose the ones we wanted to do? Or if we wanted to do them collaboratively?
I think we should revise our concept map to reflect more of what we've included on our story board. For example, using each web page as a branch? Or just getting more specific with things. Just my initial thoughts though :)
ReplyDeleteI like what you are thinking! :)
DeleteThank you, Taylor! :) If you look at her example concept map, that is what it looks like she did!
ReplyDeleteShould we decide who does which web pages on our website?
ReplyDeleteI'm good with these decisions. In think revising the concept map to match the storyboard is a good idea.
ReplyDelete"Due Dates":
ReplyDeleteHave all of our pages done by Monday, April 17th (evening)
Submit website link Sunday, April 23rd
Hi! I am reading through the lesson plan / description on elearning regarding requirements for the website. It looks like the final concept map is the one that we include on our home page. I think we should work on getting this done.
ReplyDeleteReply to this comment about changes that should be made for it.
FINAL CONCEPT MAP CHANGES:
- Bethany suggested we reorganize it to reflect our storyboard
DeleteAdd the information of under "wrap-up" to our concept map. include assignments we have completed and web sites.
DeleteI think it should be a combination of the second concept map and our storyboard? What do you guys think?
The website has to be similar across all of the pages.
ReplyDeleteFont:
-For headings, use "HEADING" font.
-For text on pages use "SUBHEADING" font.
-For citing your image use "NORMAL TEXT" font.
I think the "SUBHEADING" font might be a little too big for text on pages. Check out my local history page to see.
DeleteI think that the normal text font is too small. I like the size of the subheading font - I think it may be slightly too big but at least it is easy to read. I think we should use the normal text font for citing images or writing who created the page and such.
DeleteBethany, make sure to include the link to where you got the image from as I did under the main image on the home page.
DeleteI am struggling to do that beneath the image, I can't figure out how to make it go underneath. It goes to the side of the image. I have linked the URL to the image so I know where I am getting them and can add the link beneath once that gets figured out.
DeleteDo you want to paste the links on here and I can give it a try?
DeleteAs far as font, I just changed the style of it on the website from "Classic" to "Light." What do you think of this change? I think the "SUBHEADING" font looks better this way, if that is what we are going with.
DeleteIt looks good! What do you think about changing the normal text font to the right of your lower picture to subheading?
DeleteI haven't gotten that far lol I was leaving that there for comparison between Normal and Subheading font in regards to my earlier question :)
DeleteOh okay gotchya! :)

DeleteThe "preview" of our site looks great so far

DeleteI agree! It's looking great!
DeleteI could break up my paragraphs into different sections on the web page so there is not so much white space.
DeleteThat's what I was thinking too
DeleteIs there some kind of a site that we can instant message back and forth on that you can think of?
DeleteNot that I can think of...unless we both just got on the Google Doc?
DeleteWhat about skype messaging? I think there's a function on there that you can just message back and forth on?
DeleteThat could work too!
DeleteMy email for skype is taylor1205@sbcglobal.net
DeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the concept map, Taylor. I think it would be good to have it reflect both the second concept map/storyboard. Including the information for our planned "wrap-up" is an excellent idea!
For website pages, we have to link the digital stories, lesson plans, etc. that we have created as they are laid out on the storyboard. What are your thoughts on how the person creating a specific page get the links for someone else's lesson plan? Hopefully this question makes sense.
We posted our links in Dropbox I think. So the person who created it can retrieve it and post it on here?
DeleteWe did not share our lesson plans as links. When someone needs the link, we can just ask one another or we can provide the link in the google document or something at the very bottom of the storyboard.
DeleteOk. For some reason I thought we had copy and pasted the URL for our digital stories into Dropbox or a specified location to be graded. Or something like that. Must have been a different assignment.
DeleteYou might be thinking of our digital stories?
DeleteThat's right! Good grief! I dunno what I was thinking! Thanks
ReplyDeleteHello! So I was looking through the instructions for the website and found a few things that we should pay attention to as we create the website.
ReplyDelete1) We have to make sure that the home page contains standards from Michigan GLCE and ISTE: National Educational Technology Standards for Students: The Next Generation - AS A LINK TO ANOTHER PAGE. Looking at the example websites, it was done as a separate page with what looks like an image of standards addressed or as a link to a Google Doc with the standards addressed. How should we go about this portion?
I see that on the requirements, it says that each team member must find at least three (3) additional web sites. Would you say that this is in addition to what we have on the storyboard?
Yes, I would say this is in addition to what we have on the storyboard because it is listed under new items to include on eLearning.
DeleteLink to ITSE standards:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.iste.org/standards/standards/for-students-2016#startstandards
Slight problem with the Michigan GLCEs...I follow the link on Elearning and it says page not found, and the same thing happens when I access it through the MDE website directly.
DeleteUPDATE: We are able to access the Michigan GLCEs through Taskstream.
DeleteBethany - I have an idea for the standards page. Could we write them all out for each on the page but then we could link the titles to the taskstream doc? you could make two separate task streams - one for national and one for michigan?
