Collaborative Podcast

Hello!

It looks like our next group assignment is a collaborative podcast, which is due March 5th. Below I have included possible sign-up ideas as suggested in the instructions for this coming week. We can discuss in the comments what items in the text should be included. I would like to discuss what we have been doing so far if that is okay with you both? I know I could tie it in with some of the things I have been writing from the text for the Reading and Reflections. Also, I have added a section below where we can write our "due dates" or I guess "goals" for dates we want certain things done by. Please edit or adjust this post based on what you choose to do. Let me know what you think!

~Taylor

  1. By the way, I can put the podcast together once all parts are completed and submit it for us.

  3. What should we do in terms of the "due dates" or our "goals" for this assignment to have things completed by?

    1. I think for the initial podcasts, we should aim for this weekend or early next week (2/26-2/28?), if that is possible. Then editing to be done by the middle of next week (3/2?), and then ready for review soon after (3/4?)...what do you think?

    2. Initial Podcasts 2/27, Editing 3/2, review 3/4? I think that works for me. Amanda- what do you think?

  4. I think that could work.

  5. Hey Amanda and Taylor! I've had a crazy week with family things going on so I haven't been able to sit down like I've wanted and work on this podcast thoroughly. What are we looking for the podcast to look like, and how should each of our components flow together? How are you both coming on your portions?

    1. Honestly, I have had a crazy busy week and have not begun to look at it yet. I will tomorrow though.

    2. My week has been insane as well, and my daughter decided I wasn't getting any homework done unless I stay up all night...which I did last night. Would it be possible to push our first due date back a day to the 28th?

    3. Amanda - I am completely fine with pushing back our due date. My dad has been in the hospital this past week and finally came home yesterday. Between that, working, and babysitting today, I haven't been able to do much at all! Taylor, what are your thoughts?

    4. Of course that works for me! I have had a crazy busy weekend so I am totally okay with extending it. So Tuesday it is! We can have edits done by Thursday or Friday, review Friday or Saturday, and finalize anything Sunday and submit it then.

    5. Bethany, I really hope everything is okay with your dad. Amanda, I hope you are able to have some available time to work during the day as opposed to the nighttime.

  6. Hope your Dad recovers quickly Bethany! Thanks for pushing the day back, I'm glad it works out ok for everyone. Taylor, I wish I could work on stuff during the day! Sounds like you both know how it is though, between work and school you get a few daylight hours, but they're few and far between! Thanks again!

  7. I was looking at the assignment description on elearning, and it looks like the entire length of the podcast is to be between 3 and 5 minutes. Also, if everyone could, post a script of what you are planning to say on here in a comment so that we can look at what we are each going to say. We could have this be done by Tuesday, the actual recordings by Wednesday, edit by Thursday or Friday, and finalize it Saturday.

  8. Thank you both so much for your well wishes about my dad. He had double pneumonia and was very sick. He is getting better and making good improvement. I'm just glad he's starting to feel better finally!

I think the plan Taylor suggested works well! However, on Saturday I have a conference for work in Plymouth, MI from 8am-3pm so I won't be home until close to 5:00pm or so. Not sure if this will impact my ability to help finalize the podcast, but I will happily assist in whatever way I can as soon as I am home.

  9. That schedule works well for me as well! I was wondering about the length. If each I dividual piece needed to be 3 to 5 min or if it's the entire thing. If it is the entire podcast, that is extremely helpful! I'm running out of thing to talk about as to why we do this and not step into your guys' territory.
